The book is a good collection of genuinely useful hacks. It covers developer guidance that will take you from being able to write basic Android Apps to being able to deliver them across a wide collection of Android versions and devices effectively.

I have mixed feeling about the book. On the onset, I like the idea of this book very much - the idea of having a collection of "hacks" together in a book much like Bloch's Effective Java [mentioned in the Preface] is very attractive - I refer to Bloch's book all the time.

50 Android Hacks by is, as you may have deduced from the title, a collection of 50 tips and tricks to help Android developers of all skill levels handle a variety of problems. For the most part, I found the book very helpful.
